Career coach breaks down how structured coaching helps professionals identify misalignment, clarify goals and create a practical roadmap for career growth
NEW YORK -Oct. 1, 2026 – PRLog —
Career coach and professional development strategist Rosann Santos is giving professionals a clearer look at what actually happens inside a career coaching session in Episode 17 of Rosann’s Career Corner.
In the new short-form episode, “What Actually Happens During a Career Coaching Session?”, Santos addresses a common misconception that career coaching is simply about receiving advice, résumé tips or quick answers.
Instead, she explains that effective coaching is a structured conversation focused on understanding where a professional is now, where they want to go and what may be preventing them from getting there.
Watch Episode 17: “What Actually Happens During a Career Coaching Session?”
A typical coaching session may begin by examining a client’s current professional situation, including what they enjoy about their work, what feels misaligned and where they may feel stuck.
From there, Santos says the conversation can move deeper into a professional’s strengths, career story and recurring patterns that may be limiting progress.
Clarity is another central part of the process.
Rather than focusing only on one immediate career question, coaching can help professionals define a larger direction and develop a strategy for moving toward it.
That strategy may involve repositioning existing skills, increasing professional visibility, approaching opportunities differently or identifying changes needed to reach a new level of responsibility.
“The goal is not just to answer one question,” Santos explains in the episode. “The goal is to create a roadmap that moves your career forward with intention.”
The episode is part of Rosann’s Career Corner, Santos’ ongoing video series focused on career advancement, leadership, professional development and navigating the modern workplace.

The goal is not change simply for the sake of change. It is making sure comfort does not quietly become stagnation.
As Santos says, “Your career should always be evolving.”
