A recent study at Harvard Law School analyzed 1,583 executives at the 100 largest companies in the S&P50 and found only 23% of S&P100 C-suite members were either Black, Hispanic/Latino or Asian but combined form 37% of the total U.S. workforce. The study also found that only 28% of S&P100 C-suite members were women but form 47% of the workforce.
Rosann Santos, CPC is a Certified Career Coach who delivers leadership advice, training and seminars to audiences worldwide. At the core of her coaching and training are The Five Pillars of Success which embodies those qualities that employers are looking for in their employees for C-Suite level consideration.
In the first video of her series entitled, “5 Pillars of Success” she outlined Pillar #1: Understanding Your Strengths.
This month, in the second video of her series she outlined Pillar #2: Executive presence which can be viewed at the video link below:
She explained, “This is the leadership concept that asks, ‘Can you command a room?’ When you walk into a room two things can happen. Either no one will notice or the crowd will part as you enter.”
She went on to say, “These qualities of presence and #gravitas are common among most executives who can without a doubt, command almost any room.”
The study found that Corporate America C-suites are still disproportionately white and male, with women, Black, and Hispanic/Latino executives under-representation in most C-suite positions.
The American workforce is diverse one, 37% being Black, Hispanic/ Latino, or Asian and 47% being women. There is a large talent pool of skills, ideas, and experiences from this portion of the workforce that although it can certainly help organizations innovate and thrive – most of it is not pouring into executive-level positions. Rosann’s training helps to prime aspiring executives for executive leadership leadership.
With her certification and coaching, Rosann can help aspiring C-suite employees and college students get noticed in ways that are positive and beneficial to their future in the C-suite.
She closed by saying, “Leadership through authenticity is a powerful and effective approach to leading others. By being true to ourselves and our values, we can inspire others to follow, and create a culture of trust, collaboration, and growth.”
