Creating an inclusive, representative and equitable society has become a topic of discussion with growing importance among the DEI community. It is of even greater importance to those who seek representation and equal access in our society,
Certified Gallup Strengths Coach and FranklinCovey facilitator Rosann Santos, CPC created a detailed video presentation for her YouTube Channel on the subject of the five steps we must take to create a inclusive, representative and equitable society.
Her steps can be summarized as:
1. Hold the mirror up to yourself.
2. Leap out of that self-limiting box you live in.
3. Mentor, teach, and model the behavior to young people.
4. Take care of others who are experiencing isms.
5. Be intentional and strategic.
Her full explanation can be heard at the link below:
She described her experience working with initiatives to promote Diversity and Inclusion as, “I have dedicated my life to working with individuals and groups to see beyond the stereotypes and microaggressions that can limit others and themselves.”
Her closing comments were, “Most of my coaching clients tend to be women of color. And they often battle invisibility and voicelessness that began when they were young girls and not necessarily when they started their careers. They are trapped by their own internal struggles and that is just as limiting. I work with people to help them overcome those challenges.”
